    Truck Stop Etiquette

These are unwritten rules and trucking etiquette at the truck stops. These are rules that all truckers should follow.

    1) Be courteous to other drivers and do not park on the fuel island to go inside for food, snacks, drinks, bathroom, or showers.

    2) Watch your noise levels. Other drivers are trying to sleep and you really do not need your Jake break in the truck stops.

    3) Clean up after yourselves. Do not leave your trash laying around. Pick it up and put it in the trash can or dumpster. Do not sweep out your trailer and leave all of that trash outside on the ground.

    4) Do not leave bags of crap or pee bottles laying around. Empty them or throw them away in the trash cans.

    5) Avoid knocking on the door of another truck unless absolutely necessary.

    6) Park in approved and marked spots. I understand that parking is challenging, but drivers leave at different times and parking where there is not a spot can make it where that driver has either got to wake you and have you move or try to get out without hitting someone else.

    7) You do not need your bright headlights on when trying to park. You also do not need to leave them on after parking. Be courteous and turn them off so as not to disturb other drivers.

    8) Be cautious when backing into a spot. Some oversized loads need two spots. Do not get excessively close to the load.

    9) Do not let your dog out to run. Stay with them and have them on a leash. They may get along with other dogs, but some dogs are not so friendly. Also the poor guy or girl may get hit.

    10) Do not speed through the truck stops. Keep it at a slow speed and use caution.

The rules above are for your protection, the protection of your pet, the safety of yourself and your load, and the safety and consideration of others.
